Velisjärvi Camp Center is situated on the shores of the crystal-clear Velisjärvi lake, approximately ten kilometers from the center of Kuhmoinen. The center’s facilities are available for rent for camps, excursions, courses, recreational days, and various events and gatherings.
The camp center operates annually from May 1 to December 31. Priority reservations are given to children’s and youth activities, for which the center is offered at a nominal rental fee.
Recreational opportunities
Velisjärvi offers a variety of outdoor recreational and sports equipment, including:
- 2 SUP boards
- 2 Canadian canoes
- 2 bicycles
Additional outdoor play equipment, such as frisbee golf discs, is available in the hallway cupboard, with frisbee golf baskets installed on the camp center grounds for use.
Premises
The main building of Velisjärvi Camp Center includes a modern kitchen, dining spaces, and two guest rooms. Toilet facilities are located in a separate maintenance building nearby. Additional lodging is available in five sheds, each equipped with two bunk beds, and a yard building with six bunk beds. The main building also provides three beds, bringing the total capacity to approximately 35 sleeping places. On the lakeshore, there is a campfire site, sauna, shed, woodshed, and a pier, all renovated in the summer of 2021.
The yard area also includes, among other things, a dishwashing shelter, a woodshed, an outdoor toilet, a threshing barn that serves as a camp chapel, and a campfire site.
